420’s are the best do-it-all wheels on the market and are strong enough for racing or training. Responsive and smooth with a lightweight, 34mm deep aerodynamic profile. The 420 rim is the lightest deep section aluminum clincher rim in the world. The rim profile and low spoke count bladed spokes were selected to slice the wind and give you the ability to hold your high end cruising speed. Now with an improved braking surface. We recommend Carbon Tubulars for the serious cyclist who demands performance for racing and special events. The wheelsets are light, stiff, aerodynamic and fast. The 38mm wheels excel at criteriums and road races where re-accelerating, climbing and fast cornering is required. The 38mm is recommended for time trials with strong cross winds. The 58mm deep section wheelset excels at time trialing and triathlons where aerodynamics and holding high cruising speeds is desired. The 58mm wheelset is also a good choice for larger athletes and cyclocross. Carbon specific brake pads are recommended. Many extras are available to customize the ride. Reynolds Element Carbon Disc Rear Wheel - 700c

You get the woven scrim for predictable, safe braking, the same tough construction, in a flat disc wheel. Some disc wheels noticeably flex when you get out of the saddle. Not this one; Reynolds has built in plenty of torsional stiffness. Big riders will love that they can get out of the saddle and not feel the wheel flex.Reynolds has also found a way to specially lay up the valve stem area so you don't need a special pump head to pump up the tires (aka the finicky "crack pipe"”). The cap gives enough room to get your regular floor pump in there. Avail. with either Clincher or Tubular rim.
