CycleOps Fluid2 Trainer

CycleOps' Fluid2 Trainer utilizes Power Band technology to allow for distinct resistance changes without reaching to a lever on the unit. The large flywheel delivers a smooth, realistic road feel while sturdy legs provide a stable platform for pumping out hard, 600-watt efforts and out-of-the-saddle climbs. A favorite among serious racers, the Fluid2 is easily transportable and stands up to repeated punishment by the burliest of legs for years of impressive performance.

    Best customer support -- impressed

    By Rickster

    About Me

    Comments:

I have had a Fluid 2 trainer since they were first introduced -- lot of years! It has received a lot of use and performed very well. Recently I noticed that it's resistance decreased and found some fluid on the floor. I called customer service -- no questions or problems, just send it to them, tell them my shipping order and they send a replacement immediately. Easy Squeezy. Easiest, fastest, politest, best support I've had in the last 200'years. I'm impressed and gratified.

Entry level trainer, basic but it does everything that you need. Believe me when I say it is hard to get outside from October to April in Toronto.

Outstanding trainer with Service to match

    By MMan

    About Me

    Comments:

I have used this trainer vigorously for 6 years- - intervals, sprints, and tempo workouts. It has kept me sharp and fast. Recently, I had an issue and contacted the company for support. Their response was impressive. They absolutely stood behind their lifetime warranty. Furthermore, they shipped a replacement unit THE SAME DAY! All so I would not miss a workout. A high-quality product with service like this is rare.

    Great Trainer!

    By LesCher

    About Me

    Comments:

I was hesitant to put out the money for the fluid trainer but thankful I did! It is relatively quite despite the hybrid tires I have currently. I would agree that it is the closest thing to a real ride. As with a real ride the resistance increase with speed. Easy to set up, though it would be nice if the instructions were a little more specific to the model and not as general. Overall very pleased and would recommend this item!

    Dependability you can count on...

    By Roger

    About Me

    Comments:

I've owned my CycleOps Fluid2 for some time now and racked up 1000s of miles on it when weather doesn't permit outdoor, or I just need to get some miles in for training. The only thing I've needed to replace on it is the flip handle and CycleOps offers that readily and at a great price direct from their website.

    Comments:

I bought the Fluid trainer to keep up during winter and rain days and found this to be better than anything else I have tried. The resistance feels as though you are riding outside. It is simply awesome.

    2 Year Review

    By AR Nuke

    About Me

    Comments:

I've owned this trainer for 2 years. I leave near Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and use it it during the winter months. Fairly easy to setup from road to trainer. The hardest part is replacing the skewer that is required to use the trainer. So if you plan on switching from trainer to road it would take some time. Very little noise. Adjustment for resistance is easy. Smooth reactions at different gear settings. I have a 1984 Schwinn Tempo so it can be used on older bikes. I'm 54 and use bike and trainer for fitness.

    Smooth Ride

    By pnk72

    from Milwaukee, WI, United States

    About Me

    Comments:

I've been using the trainer for about two weeks and love it. Installation was a snap and the ride is smooth and quiet. Have used only one bike so far, but it looks like setting up for various sized bike is easy. The only thing I'm not sure about is the resistance (not a complaint, just a comment). Getting to 20 mph seems somewhat easier on the trainer than it does on the road. Also the power readings I get from Virtual Training (great program) are quite a bit higher than on my PowerCal meter. I realize the PowerCal is not the same as a conventional power meter, but the readings I get on the road seem realistic. Still give the Fluid Trainer a 5-star thumbs up.

    Great product, outstanding customer service

    About Me

    Comments:

I bought a Fluid 2 trainer sometime in 2005 and 2006 and it is still going. The resistance unit had a problem in 2013 and CycleOps customer service was terrific: I also have a PowerTap and customer service used my power files to see the problem with the unit and eventually replace it. My unit is somewhat heavy, but perhaps the newer models are lighter.
