Upcoming Events:
General Announcments:
We'll be closed January 1st - But we'll be hosting our annual New Years Day Ride. All are welcome to join us (see below for details)

Ride Annoucments:
5th Annual New Years Day Group Ride:
Get the year started right with an easy paced group ride. This is a No Drop ride which means we don't leave anyone behind. We'll ride a social pace from the shop and do from 10-15 miles depending on everyone's spirits. We'll also be stopping at a coffee shop along the way to warm up and chat more about the upcoming season.
Ride starts from the shop at 11:00 am (15min rule)

Monday Night Fat Tire Social Group Ride:
Every Monday for our weekly Fat Tire Ride. The ride starts at 6:15 pm (with 15 min rule roll time is 6:30pm). This ride is all winter long and we ride a mixture of pavement, dirt roads, and some trails, near and around Hines Drive. A good
light system is suggested. A great way to break the cabin fever with this social no drop ride, we even stop for coffee occasionally. The ride does get cancelled for inclimate weather. Feel free to call and double check before driving over 734-420-1200. If it is bad weather (rain) or conditions (too much snow) we'll be spinning indooors...

Thursday Night Trainer Nights at the Shop:
So it is that time of year again when dressing for the cold rides sometimes takes longer than the ride itself…and when going out in the dark after work reduces your motivation. Because of this were going hold Trainer Spin Nights. We’ll mix up the training from consistent paced spinning, guest spin instructors, to using training DVD’s and more. Because let face it trainers alone can be uninspiring.

This section was created as a way to reach as many mountain bikers as possible for a few reasons. First to serve as an informal guide to some of the best mountain bike trails and events for all levels. We also wanted to educate new cyclist about trail etiquette, pertinent trial information, proper equipment, and helpful riding tips. Our hope is that you will use this site as a forum for sharing your knowledge or experiences. This area is completely dedicated to mountain biking, with information such as trail maps and descriptions, Emergency Bike Repair (EBR), and more. The trail guides will provide directions, a brief description, and photographs of the trails. We are constantly updating the current information, and trying to add more trails to the list. Trails-edge.com firmly believes in supporting local bike organizations and their cause, so we welcome the opportunity to post any upcoming events. We hope this site will help you in having a good ride and continue to promote good cycling. To view one of the trails listed below just click the text and view.

Plea for Responsibility
With the growing number of new Mountain bikers, trail erosion has become very evident at several popular trails (Pontiac Lake, and Poto). The weekend traffic has grown heavier and less concerned, This has taken its toll. Trails that were handling challenges, have become speedways for the out of control masses. Even Highland, which is only a few years old is showing signs of misuse, I could barely ride A and B loops in 1996, now they are easily traversed. The many chapters of MMBA do a fantastic job on maintenance and access, but as riders we should share the burden and ride sensibly. Stay in control, ride on the beaten path (don't create hort cuts), and try not to destroy any vegetation.

Also, If you see someone tearing it up with total disregard for the trail and those who maintain it, SAY SOMETHING. When taking beginners on any trail, always try to teach some etiquette. You can use following the MMBA, and IMBA's Guidelines for trail etiquette.
