Getting to Brighton State R.A.

Directions
One of Southeast Michigan's best kept mountain bike secrets. Brighton offers 2 loops for a variety level of riders. Unless you are coming form Ann Arbor or I-94, I suggest following the I-96 directions below

From I-75, I-696, or I-96
Take I-75 to I-696 and head West. I-696 turns into I-96 at the I-275 interchange (stay in the left lane). Continue on I-96 west past US23. The first exit west of US23 is Spencer Rd (exit 147). Turn Right on Spencer Rd, over the highway and through town. Continue past town and Grand River (now called Brighton Rd.) a few miles until you get to Chilson Rd. Turn left onto Chilson Rd, drive about 1 mile (south) and turn left onto Bishop Lake Road. Follow Bishop Lake Rd. past the Bishop Lake campgrounds and turn right into the Bishop Lake parking lot entrance. Pull into the parking lot and follow it to the left to find the trail head.

From Ann Arbor
Take US-23 north for 18 miles to the Silver Lake exit (Exit 55). Head west on Silver Lake Rd. till Whitmore Lake Rd. Turn Left onto Whitmore lake Rd. Take the next right onto Winan's Lake Rd, this road will "T" into Hamburg Rd. Follow the toad to the right, a short distance further take another right to stay on Hamburg Rd. After about 2 miles, turn left onto Bauer Rd. (dirt rd). Follow Bauer Rd to Bishop Lake Rd. (second intersection), turn left onto Bishop Lake Rd. Follow Bishop Lake for a mile to the parking lot on the left "Bishop Lake" State recreation area parking lot. Pull into the parking lot and follow it to the left to find the trail head.
