Getting to the New River Gorge

Directions:
The New River Gorge is located just a few miles from the small town of Fayetteville, WV. All the climbing areas are within minuets of each other, with the exception of Summersville Lake (20 minuets North on Rt. 19). The New river gorge is on National Park Service Land, which has special regulations for land use. One of which is NO POWER DRILLS !!

Access:
With so many different climbing areas at "The New", it is in your best interest to purchase on of the many guidebooks available. Some trails are miles away form one another. It is easy get lost, or spend the day looking for a specific crag or route. The guidebooks offer the best access descriptions and maps for each area. The guidebooks are listed on the New River main page under "guidebooks". these books are available at the outfitters in Fayetteville.
