Etiquette
Climbers are by nature, easy going social individuals. Local crags offer pleasant conversation as well as challenging climbs. There is the occasional gung ho recluse, who threatens the climbing lifestyle with their thoughtless actions. With the popularity of sport climbing, evidence of retro bolting, or bolt on rappell has become apparent. When establishing a new route please use the guidelines.


Plea for Responsibility

With the growing popularity of rock climbing, so has the concern about our impact on the environment. With the pressures of an increasing climbing population comes evidence of the frailty of the cliffs. Natural erosion is a fact of life; however the Additional strain climbing has put on the many areas is more apparent. Where greenery flourished, Now paths abound. Piton scaring is evident on many classic climbs, and crag access has become threatened in many states.

The greatest impact has been due to thoughtlessness. Remember your action effect all of us in the long run. We must abandon complacency and self-serving actions, and make An effort to preserve our natural climbing areas.

General Rules
  • DON'T THROUGH ANY OBJECTS OVER THE EDGE OF THE CLIFF, IF YOU KNOCK SOMETHING OVER THE EDGE YELL LOUDLY "ROCK" NO MATTER WHAT THE OBJECT IS.
  • ALSO USE COMMON SENSE WHEN SETTING ANCHORS FOR TOP ROPE, OR RAPELLING.
  • YELL "ROPE" LOUDLY WHEN YOU TOSS YOU ROPE DOWN. GIVE THE PEOPLE BELOW A CHANCE TO MOVE.
  • NEVER ! NEVER ! NEVER ! STEP ON A ROPE, PLEASE BE CAREFUL AND LOOK WHERE YOU ARE WALKING !
  • REFRAIN FROM USING ROOTS AND SMALL TREES FOR ANCHORS.
  • USE ESTABLISHED PATHS AND BE CAREFUL OF THE VEGETATION AT THE BASE OF THE CLIMBS.
  • CLEAN UP ANY OLD TAPE OR GARBAGE (DON'T BE SHY ABOUT PACKING OUT ANY TRASH LAYING AROUND).
  • I LOVE DOGS, BUT NOT WHEN THEY ARE DISTURBING MY BELAYER - PLEASE MAINATAIN YOUR PET (THIS INCLUDES CLEANING UP THEIR MESS).

Regulations

  • CAMPING IS ALLOWED IN DESIGNATED AREAS ONLY
  • NO CAMPING AT THE BASE OR SUMMIT OF CLIMBS
  • NO CAMPFIRES, OR CUTTING DOWN OF TREES
  • PARK CLOSES AT 10 P.M.
  • ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES ARE PROHIBITED
  • MOTORIZED VEHICLES ARE PROHIBITED PAST BEYOND THE PARKING LOT
