Getting to Foster Falls

Directions
Foster Falls is located about 40 minutes west of Chattanooga, Tennessee. From I-75 outside Chattanooga, head west on I-24. I-24 will go into Georgia, then back to Tennessee. Follow
I-24 to exit 155, turn right onto Highway 28, and drive a few miles, turn left onto Highway 41/64/72, go into the little town of Jasper. In downtown Jasper turn right at the traffic light onto 150/41 toward Tracy City. A little ways down the road is the turn onto US 41 (left) and go up the curvy mountain road. Foster Falls Scenic Area is on the left 3 miles past the Mountain Mart store (top of hill). There is a small sign for the park. If you arrive after 10 P.M. the gates will be closed, but you can park on the left near the gate - Then it's a short hike to the camping area.

Access
Follow the trails toward the falls, cross the creek on the steel footbridge, then along the trail that follows the top of the cliff, past the scenic overlook. There is a primitive camping area (with an outhouse) on a marked side trail. There is a well-marked climber's access with a sign and trail leading to the base of the cliff (between Jimmywood and the Dihedrals). Access trail #2 will bring you to the base of the Rehab Slab. There is a new access trail to the base of the falls (go left at the power lines) this provides easier access to the White Wall and Bunkers areas. Cross the cable bridge over creek. Turn left, then up and along the base of the cliffs, continuing left. The first climbing area you come to will be the "White Wall".
