This
bike
is from one of the return customer below. Dan had upgraded his old
Ventana Marble Peak FS as much as possible. Then realized he wanted
more...He wanted a new rear shock, and to be able to run disc brakes.
Basically move to the more modern bike. He had actually called Ventana
directly a few times and talked to Sherwood (the owner Ventana Bikes
USA) and found out that Ventana offers a no questions upgrade/crash
replacement program of 30% off any new frame. Realizing that his old
frame would require him to drop some more $$ and that the angles and
design of the older frame (1997 frame) was very different and would
never handle the way a newer frame designed around 100mm forks would.
He made the call to get a new frame. Even though the old fame was
in great shape.
We worked on the bike swapping old parts like the cranks, seat post
and saddle over to the new frame, as well as installing the new Reba
Fork, Avid Juicy 7 Disc brakes and DT Swiss 240 Wheel set. He also
upgrades his drive train to the newer SRAM X.0 stuff. This bike came
with the stock powder coating color of Electric Super Dust, which
is a nice deep charcoal gray with colored metal flakes in the paint.
Very hard to get a good photo of that...sorry. For more details on
the Ventana Bikes please stop in the shop or visit their website
