This
was a build that started as a repair. Scott had a Specialized bike
that was in for repair with a creaking noise. We pulled the bike apart
and re-assembled it. We still couldn't get rid of the creak. It turns
out that the problem was a cracked or poor weld joint at the bottom
bracket shell. Under loads the frame flex woudl allow the metal to
rub in the crack or gap and caused the loud creaking noise.
So Scott was looking at the Salsa frames before this had really happend
anyhow...And was taken withthe Moto Rapido's carbon fiber seat stays,
and sandium tubes. We took a lot of the parts off his Specialized
to re-use on this frame. We did end up getting him a new Rock Shox
SID fork after these photos were taken. http://www.salsacycle.com
